Charges Against Client Dismissed in Woodbury Court in Highland Mills, NY

The criminal defense lawyers of Proto, Sachs & Brown, LLP recently appeared in the Justice Court of Woodbury in Highland Mills, NY and were successful in getting the criminal charges of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree (AUO) withdrawn by the Orange County District Attorney. The criminal charges carried a penalty of up to 6 months in jail, 3 years probation and significant fines and surcharges. The client's license had been suspended months earlier due his failure to answer and pay numerous traffic tickets issued in several courts throughout Westchester County and Orange County. By intervening quickly on behalf our client, our criminal defense attorneys assisted in clearing the client's license of all of the outstanding traffic tickets and advised him on how to obtain the necessary documents from the Department of Motor Vehicles to lift the suspension on his driver's license. Upon obtaining the necessary paperwork, the Orange County prosecutor agreed to withdraw the criminal charges.

Additionally, the prosecution was convinced to reduce the 6 point speeding violation which had also been issued at the time of our client's arrest to a lesser 2 point violation for failing to obey a traffic control device.

In the end, our client who was charged with crime and facing significant penalties and fines left the courthouse a free man with no criminal conviction.
