New York State "Speed Week"
New York State Troopers will be out in force this week ticketing motorists for speeding, reckless driving and other aggressive driving across New York State.
What is "Speed Week"?
Governor Andrew Cuomo announced a week-long New York State Police enforcement initiative that will target speeding and aggressive drivers across New York State.
"Speed Week" runs from August 10to August 17th and coincides with the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series at Watkins Glen International Raceway.
New York State Police Patrols
The New York State Police primary enforce the Vehicle and Traffic Laws on State roads. In Westchester County, motorists can expect increased patrols on I-684, I-87, I-95, Route 9, Route 9A and I-287.
As expected there will be increased patrols, tickets and arrests on State highways in Putnam, Rockland, Dutchess and Orange Counties.
